However, when I started singing lessons, my music teacher encouraged me to get involved in musical theatre. I played a small role in two different musicals, put on by the Hawkesbury Creative Arts Academy. Both musicals were amazing to be in, and it felt nice to be able to come out of my shell a little and be more of a confident person. I still am not the greatest fan of drama, and I’m not very good at learning lines but if I was given the opportunity to do it again I would participate in more musicals.

Dancing is not something I really enjoy doing, and I really only do it drunk. However, when I was younger my mother enrolled me in a dance school. I was in the dance school for about a year. I did tap and ballet. I competed in a few competitions around our local area and did a few dance recitals as well. As a kid I found dancing pretty fun, but as I got older and lost all coordination I just really was not interested in it any longer. However, there have been a few occasions where I have danced again. I danced in a year 6 production for my school and I danced in some musicals that I was involved in. I have included photos of myself from when I was younger, and from my year 6 production. 
I wouldn't really say that i am but if I had to i would say that I am still experiencing dance.

I can appreciate an amazing artwork and I can see the work and talent that people put into their works, but I myself do not do a lo of arty things. I have been to quite a few art galleries, but the problem is while my friends can stand and admire one piece in the gallery for 45 minutes, I have made it through the whole gallery in 30 minutes. So, I don’t really get invited to go to galleries anymore. Really the only arty things I do are the pictures I put into my creative journal. I use my creative journal to express a lot of the feelings and thoughts that I am having. Sometimes I write about my day, or how I’m feeling, but mostly I just put in quotes and things that I find. I am not the greatest at drawing and such, but It helps me, and it helps my moods. I also love to colour in. colouring in just relaxes me so much, especially when I am colouring in mandalas. I have included a few pictures from my journal. I feel like Visual Arts is something i am both experiencing and conceptualising.

The only real thing that I have done is a video I made for class, about the effects of the creative arts in school. Media arts definitely seems like a new kind of concept, but when I was making the video I had a lot of fun and I really want to explore it more and do some more things with it. I would say that Media Arts is something that I am still experiencing.

Growing up I listened to music everyday with my parents, either at home or in the car. As I got older I began discovering my own tastes and exploring genres. I have a very eclectic taste. My playlist consists of anything from Adele, to Luke Bryan to Bullet for My Valentine. As my siblings and I got older my mother started asking us about instruments and if we were interested in learning anything. My eldest brother plays guitar, my other brother plays trumpet and saxophone, my other brother plays trumpet and my sister plays clarinet. I tried to learn guitar, but I don’t have the dexterity to play it. Instead I got singing lessons and began to improve my singing ability. I did lessons for a few months and leant some pieces for my HSC. 

For me, I don’t think that I could survive without music. I seriously cannot go 5 hours without listening to something. Music helps with my moods. I have a very bad temper and when I get into one of my moods I find that listening to music helps to calm me down. It also helps with my anxiety and my PTSD. I feel like I will never give up on music, it will always be such a large part of my life. 

I love to listen to film soundtracks, especially in horror films. I love being able to feel and listen to the build in the music, the crescendos building up to the jump scenes in the films. I also love how a song can pair so perfectly with a scene happening in a film. One of my favourite pairings is John Denver’s “Annie’s Song” paired in a scene in the 2017 film ‘Okja’. 

One of my friend’s and I have decided that we are going to learn some songs together and start a duo. So we went through a list of songs and chose to cover Adele’s “Someone Like You”, which I have attached to the poster. 

Music i am definitely still experiencing, but i am also conceptualising by both naming and theorising and also analysing funtionally.
