For my podcast, I didn’t really want to do it by myself so I planned to make it with a friend as I thought that would make it a little bit more entertaining. I thought that doing some research on podcasts would be smart as I don’t have any experience with podcasts so getting some insight as to what makes a good one felt like the right idea.

The first thing I did was research my topic, which was Fleetwood Mac and their live performance of their song Silver Springs in 1997 at Warner bros. Studios. Then I did some research into what makes a good podcast and how to structure it. I then used all of this to make myself an outline of what I wanted to talk about by breaking it all up into sections. Next I booked a booth and figured out a time with my friend for her to come in and work with me. We spent a while talking and didn’t really cover many topics as we kind of went off on a lot of irrelevant tangents and I had to cut 1140 bars of talking down to about 300 which was 10 minutes which was a bit long for my liking but we tend to talk quite a bit. I then had to book another booth for another day to come back in and edit it all as I had run out of time the time before. So I sat and cut out things that were unimportant (although quite funny in my opinion) and added in some elevator music when we went on tangents or to segue as I didn’t have time to re-record anything, and honestly, I had no idea what else to do so I just did that. Once it was done and I was (relatively) happy with it, I bounced it, saved it, and uploaded it to my one-drive so I could access it and add it to my padlet.

I think I shot myself in the foot a little bit as it took me a while to get my presentation done which had all my info I needed for my podcast, so I had less time to get my podcast done the way I’d like, so I definitely think I could have prepared a lot better so I now know for next time that I need to make a better plan, and give myself enough time to get things done.
