the poet uses auditory imagery to display the conditions of the coffee shop. the poet mkaes use of imagery to describe the environmeny and features of the coffee shop. the poem states "ceiling fans whirr". the auditory imgaeyr of whrring indirectly describes the surroundings in the coffee shop. instead of air conditoners, coffee shops have large fans blwoing at customers and shopowners while they eat/talk/make food. he uses auditory imgagery tl connect with the reader's senses, creating a vivid and life-like image in the reader's mind. the poet esscibes the scene masterfully by suggesting the humidity inside the coffee shop due to only having fans blowing at the people.

Tactile Imagery through contrast of "chilly-hot nasi goring" and "iced-coffee". Hot is compared to cold. The effect of this imagery is to show how hot things need cold things to cool it down, the nasi goreng being so spicy that the person eating immediately drinks their coffee. The word "sends" describes how the hot dish has more influence than the cold dish with a bigger effect.

Furthermore, "twirls With a dancer's stamina" displays the person's dancing being compared with a twirling dancer when he makes the roti prata. This shows that roti prata makers are very skilled and can "twirl" in the same way dancers do.

It is first evident from, "The pot-bellied experts twirl with a dancer's stamina." The diction 'pot-bellied' creates a visual imagery of a protruding stomach which suggests that the roti prata makers in this 'coffee shot' are fat. The roti prata makers are also compared to being able to 'twirl' like a dancer, with the use of metaphor. This highlighting how the roti prata makers are very elegant in cooking up a prata. Having 'dancer's stamina' also proves that the prata makers are very skilled in their jobs, being able to swiftly make multiple prata without taking a break.

visual imagery 1-"Beating counter with right palm, he traps air in each fold, then flops roti prata on black griddle and dribbles oil" This visual imagery creates an enticing /tasty view of the roti prata with a detailed description of its preparation while giving sparse descriptions of the setting. This contrast causes the readers to want to read on as they want to know more about the location where the food is being prepared.
