Our Culture- the feeling you get when entering the school campus. It can be a welcoming and inviting

environment.

grass to your knees, sticky floors, Main hallway clean, nice buildings, weeds,

receptionist is friendly, no updated awards/ plaques, raised voices.

We want a warm and inviting school culture.

How? Break up cliques, some teachers need to share!, staff to be more professional.

No Cork strip for the end of C hall classrooms

Atmosphere of learning that encourages students development of social and academic development.

Our school culture lacks a sense of comradery.

School culture is the beliefs, perceptions, relationships, attitudes, and written and unwritten rules that shape and influence every aspect of how a school functions, but the term also encompasses more concrete issues such as the physical and emotional safety of students, the orderliness of classrooms and public spaces, or the degree to which a school embraces and celebrates racial, ethnic, or cultural diversity.

Our Culture: Well... let's just say its not most of the above.

Perception: Depends who the audience is. To a nurturing parent, we are probably more negative. To most of our parents we are nurturing because we provide that piece they lack... the one who talks and reads with them and really gets to know them. To professional colleagues, um...probably not a good perception, even appalling at times.

While some teachers focus on positive, not all do. Not as healthy as needed. Negative perceptions and attitudes. More teacher focused rather than student focused. More reactive than proactive.

Culture is the perception someone has when they enter our school.

Our culture is negative. We need more praise and positives.

We would like our school culture to be driven by love supported by discipline. We think that discipline has been misunderstood and implemented in a way that doesn't reveal the heart/intention of the teacher.

We want a positive place for learning to take place. Encouraging, motivating, less negativity. Staff needs to have better interactions with each other and students. Learn to love the kids regardless of their behaviors.

Some classroom/behavioral management professional development. Work on keeping the kids constantly engaged, give students choice in direction of learning. Consider Responsive Classroom" as a school wide technique. Remembering why you became a teacher to begin with.

Culture needs to be inviting and excepting. We have to change how we think, act and interact with children.
