Whole entire family's lived in the Alamo and a few famous people you might know including Davy Crockett. Close to 150 people joined the rebellion of the Alamo that would fight against the Spanish.

Travis wrote the letter " Victory or Death!" The letter made it out of the Alamo and inspired many. The purpose of the letter was to plead for help because almost no one believed that they would win the battle.

February 23, 1836 and everything was set the Spanish troops moved in closer so no one could escape! May 6, 1836 the Spanish army attacked! With in just a few hours all the troops in the Alamo where dead! Including Davy Crockett who shot numerous men just seconds before he died when he had already been shot. Just before the Spanish attacked the Alamo the battle cry " remember the ALAMO!" was heard and it still inspires people today!

The battle of the Alamo was a very big key factor in Texas becoming a free state later that year. Today over 4 million people each year visit the Alamo to experience the amazing history of the Alamo for them self's.
