Reasons for flocking
1. Protection for predators- when flying together, it's more unlikely for a predator to single you out because there's so many more options for a predator to chose from. Birds can also work together in attacking a predator. There is also increased protection as more birds means more eyes to look out for a threat.

Thoughts on Social Behavior

I believe that having social behaviors is a huge advantage for survival. With social behaviors, finding food, hunting, looking out for predators, and fighting predators will be a million times easier than being alone. Having social behaviors can possibly build better relationships and having relationships will lead to a longer and better life. Social behaviors is a huge factor when it comes to natural selection. It wouldn't be surprising when organisms that have social behaviors are living longer than other organisms.
