      <description>An accomplished public school educator and educational administrator, Dr. Darnell Yates holds a PhD in higher and postsecondary education from Argosy University as well as four masters of science in areas that range from special education to school counseling. Over the course of a career that spans 18 years, he has served elementary and secondary students as both an instructor and an administrator at both public and private schools in Richmond, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Dr. Darnell Yates worked roughly a decade with Richmond Public Schools (RPS), ultimately serving the district as an assistant principal and a summer school principal.

After parting ways with RPS in 2018, Dr. Yates joined the faculty at Grand Canyon University. He continues to teach and serve as a faculty supervisor with Grand Canyon.

Dr. Darnell Yates has served as an assistant principal with Dorchester County Public Schools (DCPS) in Cambridge, Maryland, since August 2019. This position places him in charge of faculty, staff, and students at two Cambridge, Maryland area schools, Hurlock Elementary and Sandy Hill Elementary.</description>
