Totoaba's are being illegally hunted for their swim bladder. In China, it is used in soup as a delicacy and are thought to be valued as a medicine. I have a passion for learning about the animals. I discovered the species by watching an educational show called Sea Rescue. This show explains how they find a sea animal, nurse it back to health, and then release it back into the wild. One day, I was watching Sea Rescue and it showed the people rescuing a Vaquita. It was one of the cutest animals I have ever seen, so I decided to watch it. The people on Sea Rescue talked about how endangered they are and what is causing them to become extinct. I was so mad when I realized that there were only about 10 of these harmless animals left in this world. Once I realized that I could do my project about an endangered animal, this was the first animal that came to my mind.
