I am an English language teacher at a private school in northern mala with eight years of experience. I began my journey as an autodidactic and soon recognize the need to enhance my teaching skills. This realization led me to pursue a teaching degree at UVG. In my role as a teacher, I am surrounded by a supportive inner circle that includes parents, students, colleagues, coordinators and principles. Their influence impact my daily life, work and decision making. Additionally my family, especially my parents, my husband, and sisters play a significant role in shaping my experience and choices.

WEEK 2

Today I have observed my students and notice that most of my students works pretty good in an autonomy way, but there is a small group( 5 students) that are using the class for socializing. So I'm thinking that I need to separate this students to make them work and participate.

Week 3

I changed my students place and I saw some changes but not what I expected, instead of them to concentrate in the class they were making other students (that were working) to lose their focus and start chit chatting.

Another thing that I notice is that the class has some issues one of them is that the projector is not working properly so the students can't see the screen, another thing is that the speakers have a very low volume so when we're making listening activities they're not working properly as well and the desks are pretty uncomfortable. All this issues makes my students lose focus on the class.

WEEK 5

In this week we didn't have nothing relevant because we're in the middle of informed tests so schedules are different and most of the students don't get to their usual schedule so I didn't see the group that often.

I brainstormed a way to see my students and realize that seeing them in groups of three is a very good option based on the size of the room and the amount of students that attend that classroom. I present this to my German fellows (we share the language classroom) and they agree with the change they are open to apply the change. Then I spoke to the other English teacher, and she resist and explain that that wouldn't work with her students.

WEEK 7

I made a date with the English teacher to explain the benefits of assigning seats, she is resisting in placing them in groups of three because she believes that students will get distracted. So we negotiated and in the roads we agreed in placing students but because of the size of the room, and the bad condition of the projector I proposed to her 6 roads of five desks, also I propose her to place a high proficient student in the middle so they are surrounded with a mid and low proficient peers, and she agreed.

Week 8

I presented the diagram for the seating tragedy to my fellow teachers so that they can fill in their students name and then give me feedback about how this arrangement was working. All of them fill in their diagram and show it to me. Some of them didn't have enough high performing students, so they place a mid performance students instead.

After meeting with my fellow teachers the comment that they had to make some arrangements and that they changed the format and they share with me the new format but they say that they are experiencing a better group management and that the students are focusing more and producing and participating in an efficient way.
