Specific: My goal in Math this term is to at least get a grade of B so that I have a small buffer the next 2 terms.

Measurable: I keep track my progress using the PRF and re-answering questions I had difficulty answering previously to see if I improved in that aspect.

Attainable: I plan to achieve this goals by studying hard and taking tutor, which I didn't do last year. Along with my parents' encouragement, I should be able to complete my goal.

Relevant: This goal is important to me because I failed first term Math last year and I had to spend the whole year playing catch up to make sure I passed.

Time-bound: These goals will be until the last day of the first term so I can be working as much as possible.

This term has felt more challenging than I expected. Since it’s first term, I focused on keeping my core values and SMART goals in mind to guide my success. Although I faced some difficulties, I managed to push through. Here are my comments on each goal.

Specific: I think this goal can still be completed if I score well on my LT3 and Exam. Some of my past scores weren't up to par with the standards I put on myself, but I believe I can still bring it back.

Measurable: I believe this goal has been completed. I am aware of my current performance and I am practicing for the LT3 and Exam.

Attainable: This goal can be attained if I hustle hard this last week of academics, where I will be taking 2 tests. If I do well here, it is possible for be to complete my goal.

Relevant: I feel this goal is completed, as I kept on putting importance on Math over subjects I was better at to encourage my Math skills to get better.

Time-bound: These goals should be able to be completed at the end of the term. Doing the work this first term made me realize that my grades can be better if I hustle harder every term.

Cerebry proved to be the most challenging task this term. It demanded a lot of work, requiring me to practice complex concepts and complete a lot tasks. While I found the insights gained from it to be incredibly valuable, the process often felt tedious and overwhelming. Juggling the demands of Cerebry alongside my other responsibilities tested my time management skills and resilience. Despite everything, I recognize that this experience has really enhanced my understanding on several topics I would have had a hard time with otherwise.

1. One common misconception I’ve noticed is the incorrect application of the FOIL method when factoring squared binomials.

2. This confusion stems from when students assume that (x + 3)^2 can be simplified to x^2 + 9, leading to the question, "Why can’t I just square each term?"

3. I encountered this misconception while working on problems involving squared binomials. As a careless mistake for a few problems, I made an error by calculating (x + 3)^2 was simply x^2 + 9. However, after reviewing my work, I recalled that the correct expression is x^2 + 6x + 9. This highlights the importance of using FOIL method and not being careless when answering and doing the problem step-by-step.

My best work this term is definitely Quiz 1, where I scored 17/20. This experience made me realize that I can do well in Math. As I prepared for the quiz, I reviewed the material thoroughly, and seeing my efforts pay off boosted my confidence. I felt proud of my score because it showed my understanding of the concepts and reassured me that I have the ability to succeed. This positive thinking motivates me to keep working hard and embrace challenges in Math moving forward.

I plan to study for the exam with my friend, Saul, online. We’ll set aside time to review the material together and answer mock tests together through calls. I believe that helping each other in this way will keep us motivated and help us deepen our understanding of the topics. We’ll share resources and tackle challenging problems together so that me and him both are ready for the Exam.
