One time it broke down, so they had to ride a minibus to each church. That day after church, they had to hitchhike, since no minibuses were showing up. They finally got someone to give them a ride and while they were driving, a minibus started to swerve, making them stop. The minibus driver's made his family go on the bus instead. The driver of the minibus was confused on why she was in a car with someone who wasn't her husband, until he found out she was Xhosa, a certain type of South African people. To the driver, the Xhosa were "🤬" and "whores", so the driver decided to teach his mom "a lesson". She tried to reason with him, to let them off the bus, but he said no and started to speed up, knowing at some point, they would die. That was his lesson. He was a mixed child, and that was against the law. Another law was that blacks couldn't live in certain places, but Trevor's mom didn't care, and lived there anyway. There was also a curfew that she didn't follow and asked around to people who also didn't follow it. They were all prostitutes who dressed up as maids, so they wouldn't be questioned. So, she did the same. She would get some maid clothes, and some white man would be generous and let her rent out a flat (Apartment) to live in. His mom is black and his dad is white. Of course, that is against the law, so when they had to have the C-Section for Trevor, they pulled out a half-white, half-black baby. Trevor Noah technically doesn't have a father because there is no father on the birth certificate. So once, they were in the park and his dad was walking a little bit behind and Trevor started to chase after him screaming "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!"
