- Big businesses had close relations with the Nazi government because of how the Nazis tried to make Germany self-sufficient.
- Under New Plan of 1934, industries important to Germany were subsidized with imports barred
- Production of important products (oil, steel, coal and explosives) increased. Companies producing these products were given valuable government contracts to make said items, for which the companies supported supported the government.
- Ban on trade unions helped companies as there were no more worry of conflict between workers and employers, and workers were controlled by the government.
- Goering's Four Year Plan also heavily impacted big businesses as it was for Germany to prepare for war. Large amounts were invested in rearmament to boost the income of companies producing war materials. The companies gave compulsory donations directly to the Nazis. This allowed the big industrialists to grow and their production of important products helped contribute to the economic boost.
- The Nazis did not have to worry about their finances because of the fact that the industrialists were also helping them strengthening their power and influence

- Nazis felt that support from workers were beneficial and vital
- Nazi propaganda praised workers on bringing Germany to become a great nation
- DAF set up schemes such as 'Strength Through Joy' or 'Kraft durch Freude' (KdF), which provided cheap theater and cinema tickets, organized courses and cultural and sports events.
- Main reason for the above programmes were to control leisure time but had lots of appeal
- Scheme was laid out to allow workers to save 5 marks a day to save towards a KdF-wagen ( now known as the Volkswagen Beetle)
- The 'Beauty of Labour' scheme was set up to improve working conditions for workers. Conditions in factories were improved, Washing facilities and low cost canteens were set up. However these were, indirectly paid for by the workers , being designed to keep people at their workplace
