Lee was trapped by the Federals near the Appomattox Court House and surrendered his army to the Union, led by General Ulysses S. Grant. This event was what led to the end of the most bloodiest conflict in all of American history. This was one of the final battles of the Civil War, ending with surrender of the Federal Troops, giving power to the Union in victory.

Booth escaped and left Lincoln there to live his last day. From this day on, the North began to hate the South increasingly more and more. The Civil War was not able to be reconstructed at a pace that was well for the United States after Lincoln's assassination because the government was unstable for a while.

William T. Sherman torched the industrial part of Atlanta and pulled away from the lines of supplies. This gave strong territorial gains to the Union and gave them much hope for the battles. During this time, much of the Georgia plantations were ruined and the Carolina's were ruined partly as well. Ultimately gave power to the Union and contributed to the war with hope for the Union leaders.

Robert E. Lee invaded the North and was trying to defeat the  union forces once and for all. But, the confederate momentum was stopped and Europe wasn't able to get involved much anymore. This was so important to the continuous outcome of the war due to Robert E. Lee's plan being crushed when the powerful Union came against them and got the victory in the end.

This was to declare that "all persons held as slaves are to be free". This clarified for the nation that the Union is truly fighting for freedom and they won't give up. This strengthened the cause of war for the union, politically, socially, and militarily. This was important to the outcome because it showed the true reason for the war, and made things real, for the overall cause.

This was a battle between the armies of the Union soldiers and the Confederate soldiers, leaving a victory with the Union. This kept the Confederates in their place and eventually led Lincoln to releasing the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. This changed the course of the war by allowing a way for this opportunity, which later on ensures freedom for slaves.

The goal of the Union army was the march from the Federal Capital, to the river called Bull Run, to then meet about 20,000 soldiers of the Confederate army and battle. This was important in the start of the Civil War because it was one of the first clashes and the Confederate took the victory, which altered the illusion that it would be a quick and easy war to take place in history.

This was the  most important battle because it showed the anger of the Confederacy, and then sparked the rise of the Union in what they will do for freedom of their country.

This led to the war by out breaking disunion, with a leader than wanted a strong union and free states.
