Violations of Human Rights have been very serious in Pakistan. This country has a Federal Republic Government which means that the president is elected and there are provinces or state that have autonomy from the national government (U.S. Embassy in Argentina, w./d.). This should mean that unlike other countries, every region is being developed, but Pakistan government has made continuous attacks to the freedom of speech and attacks to the civil society over the past decades. This includes the impediment for media coverage on abuses by the government and the militant groups. Journalists have received threats, attacks, have been abducted, assaulted, injured, beaten up and harassed. In Addition, they made a new policy called “Regulation of INGOs in Pakistan” which is made to impede the registration and functioning of international human rights groups (Human Rights Watch, 2019).

Women and Children are the ones that are being the most affected in Pakistan. Violence like rape, acid attacks, domestic violence, forced marriage are some of the most commons ways of abuse to women and children. 21% of the girls marry before being of legal age every year and 3% marry before the age of 15. The governments keep on doing nothing even though the UN recommended to endorse the Safe School Declarations after the armed groups used children in suicide bombings and in August of 2018 12 schools were attacked and burned down. Due to the lack of safety and access to education more than 5 million children of primary age are out of school (Human Rights Watch, 2019).

40% of the population lives in multidimensional poverty which makes it very important for the citizens to get a job. There are over 68 million people working, which is not even 50%. The conditions in which labor force is done in Pakistan are terrible. Around 4% of the workers reported within a 12-month period injuries or diseases since Pakistan doesn't have a health and safety legislation. There are more than 2 million children between the ages of 10 to 14 that work (Ethical Trading Initiative, 2017).

Human Rights Watch.

Right now, India is one of the countries with the highest rate of violence against women. 650 million Indian women and girls are suffering everyday due to the lack of human rights and justice they receive from the government. According to Narayan, 42% of girls in this country have been sexually abused at least once in their life. Due to the cultural traits, they have, it’s been proven that women are valued as less than men. According to half of the Indian population, women, and men, believe that women “deserve a beating sometimes” (Narayan, 2018).

India’s government is connected to their economic development. India has a Sovereign socialist secular democratic republic. This means that India has a parliamentary system of government, and this has a direct or indirect support of the parliament (National Portal of India, 2022). Even though this means they have a lot of freedom, their economy is the 131 freest in the world. According to the Index of Economic Freedom, the economic freedom score is 53.9, which is low considering India is known for the great amount of goods they produce. (Index of Economic Freedom, 2022).

Over the last decades, residents in Indian cities have had extreme heat and water shortage. This is mostly due to climate change disrupting the quantity of rainfall and the overpopulation in the cities. More than 31% of urban households did not have access to public tap water or piped water. More than 60% of urban households do not have access to piped water (Padmanabha & Srivastava, P, 2019). This violates the human right of “Access to safe drinking water and sanitation” (UNHR, n/d).

Padmanabhan, V & Srivastava, P. (2019).

The unemployment rate of China is 3.96%. This is due to the rapid growth of population. China is starting to be overpopulated so there are not enough jobs for people and the lack of major absorbers of labor. In South Korea the unemployment rate is 3.70%, the main cause is the lack of job creations, they are also going through an economic crisis due to covid19, so the main responsible of the issue would be the government. In the case of North Korea the main cause is because the government has all the power in every monetary exchange (Choi, n.d)

Japan is characterized because of their low unemployment rate, recently it has grown because of the surge of covid cases, even though Japan has the lowest unemployment rate this is due because most people in Japan had job security during the pandemic. Finally Taiwan had a unemployment rate of 3.95% and it is due to inflation that happened during covid. As we can see most of the Asian countries have been affected by covid-19 causing inflation and affecting the economic area (Business Standard, 2022)
