Discussion Q2. Seeing how unnecessary burning of biomass is just cassually done around in our community it makes me want to do something to utilize these biomass instead of just treating them as unnecessary byproducts.

2.In my 16 years of living, me and my family has depended on fossil fuels as our main energy source provided by the power plants. But during typhoons that destroyed the power lines and caused power outage for a long period of time we depended on flashlights that can be charged using the mini solar panel attached to it, and used the flashlight at night. Solar power can be very efficient in times of calamities with only the sun as our source our main source of energy. The sun also provides a limitless amount of energy that can be used by everyone during the day. 

Although I do not have first hand experience with biomass, wind power, and hydropower, I have seen places which use these as their main energy source.

A sugar cane company here in San Enrique uses agricultural waste specifically bagasse, the dry residue of sugar cane, to power their plants and the homes of their employees. Other places such as Guimaras in western visayas uses Windmills and a province in Benguet uses their famous Ambuklao Dam as a part of their hydroelectric facility to provide energy to nearby towns or provinces. Not onyl does it provide energy this is also avery unique way to attract tourists and increase the tourism of the community. 

With the help of my experience and prior knowledge to the different kinds of energy source my analysis became bery easy. Add that the new knowledge I acquired from research, finishing this activity was easy as pie.

 

2.My family and I have experienced these energy sources like Solar power. Solar Power is used in drying wet towels,clothes and other things. Making see salt drying fish and charging solar power banks without the use of electricity In this way, we don’t need to use high priced land that might be better suited for other applications. Solar power can be very useful in times of brownout or no electricity with only the sun as the source of the energy. 

 Fossil fuels like gasoline is essential in our transportation gasoline and diesel are non-renewable fuels created from crude oil deposits in the ground or beneath the ocean also we use this natural gas for heating or cooking our foods this energy is also important in our daily life. 

I don’t experienced utilizing with wind power, hydropower  and  biomass but i have seen places that uses these energy. 

A windmill in The San Lorenzo wind farm in Guimaras  is the second investment of Trans-Asia in Guimaras. It is the first wind energy project that can consistently deliver 100 percent of  capacity to the Visayas grid.The project supplies power to Panay via a new 2.8-kilometer submarine cable connection from Guimaras. 

I have seen that Aklan uses biomass as their main source of energy.  The Asea One Power project serves as an ideal case for utilization of mixed fuel types abundant in Asia and Southeast Asia. Expertise in fuel properties gives DP CleanTech the ability to optimize solutions based on available fuel, thus enhancing power plant economies and 

According to my research Hydroelectric power plants in the Philippines are located in Pangasinan, Benguet, Laguna, Isabela, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Ilocos Sur, Bohol, Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, Bukidnon, Davao del Sur, and Misamis Oriental.

My  research and background knowledge in this energy help me analyzing easily. Some of this energy are not familiar to me before but with this current lesson it help me to familiarize and analyze these energy sources. 

      As we all know Wind energy is the only energy system that is present during mornings, afternoons and even evenings, and one turbine with an average of 1.5-MW would produce the same amount of electric energy as that used by almost 332 households over a year. Even if installing a wind power costs a lot at first, but after the long run, we will be able to realize how much we had been able to save because of using this energy system. Wind energy has many disadvantages such as; first, the inconsistency of the winds, but if we install these turbines in their best locations like on top of high elevations like hills and mountains or offshore where there are minimal obstacles that could potentially slow down the speed of the wind, then this will not be a problem anymore. Second are the noise and the ability of the wind turbines to reduce the local bird population. That is the reason why Bladeless turbines were constructed so that it can no longer kill any birds and bats, and also so that many would not be intimidated by the sound that the turbine makes.

 Not alike other energy system that produces a lot of greenhouse gases, wind power was considered to be the lowest relative greenhouse gas creator. And as we all know, from all other energy systems, wind is the most impossible sources to disappear because even if it is sunny, windy, rainy or even during storms, wind is always present causing this type of source to be much more effective compared to other systems. 

 

2.My experience influences me to come up with this analysis because if we really ponder on how we do not use these sources well, it will really become a big regret for us, because we were not able to maximize their use while conserving our environment. And out of all the other energy systems, wind power has the least negative effect in our environment, especially when we talk about its ability to produce greenhouse gases. And I believe that in constructing energy systems we should focus more on their ability to produce the least amount of water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and ozone because we are doing this to conserve the environment. So if we use other systems thinking that we can use them to preserve the environment, but we do not understand how much of these greenhouse gases were being produced by it, then it is like you trying to put out fires with gasoline. Because instead of helping in conserving the environment, the system helps in producing much more greenhouse gases that help worsen our environment. I would also want to influence everyone that spending a lot of money in constructing these kinds of energy system, whether it is wind, solar, hydroelectric power and biomass for it to become much effective and efficient is much more important than not being able to save money in the long run. Because I truly believe that if we invest in these different energy systems, we can save in electric bills and we can also help in conserving our environment for the future generations.
