I believe that crimes are often committed by people who, in that moment, experience a kind of mental breakdown. They are not fully aware of the harm they’re causing. Sometimes, there are warning signs that could help prevent such actions, but once the crime is done, it’s clear that consequences are necessary. Punishment should match the seriousness of the offense. However, in many cases, simply removing someone’s freedom isn’t enough. Real change comes from understanding the root of the problem and focusing on what truly needs to be transformed
