In TKAM and CST I have found a common theme; Finding the true person behind the mask.
CST: “Sometimes it’s like people are a million times more beautiful to you in your mind. It’s like you see them, that’s how they really are.”
TKAM: “Atticus, he was real nice."
"Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them.”
Both these quotes beautifully describe how you don't really know who someone is until you finally get to know them or "see" them and their lives.
You must get to know them and try to understand their lives before you judge and fully understand how their lives work.

My favourite character from TKAM is Atticus Finch, and my favourite character from CST is Rucker Blakeslee.
Atticus and Rucker didn't really develop much to me, but they both opened up a bit more. You find out that Rucker had a lot of secrets that he didn't want to share until the end of the book. Atticus was seeming to get wiser as the book went on. They both made bold decisions that largely affected the books. Without these characters in the books, it would be dull, no story plot, the main ideas and lessons would be different, and you wouldn't be able to take something from it.

I found this amazing picture and this is my favourite quote from this book because people (mockingbirds) are being judged and mocked (killed) and no one will do anything. They only do good in the world, and people still want to harm them, and that alarms me.

So I was trying to find a nice quote picture for Cold Sassy Tree, but alas, there was none to be found. So I made one myself! (From scratch)
I really like this quote because it made me think, and tear the sentence apart bit by bit to understand what it was trying to say. When you mourn for a loss in life, it feels like you're missing a part of you. Much like when you are homesick. When you're homesick, you miss the comfort... the belonging to feel safe and loved. Well imagine that feeling. Now, by the time you finished reading this sentence, it's gone; Imagine a cold, dark, empty room. One that is in the middle of nowhere, in fact on a different place. That comforting, safe place is trillions of miles away. This is how it feels to morn. Away from peace, feeling like there is nowhere else to run, so far away from your comfort place. There is no way to get back home. So you have to start over, like a new born learning how to walk and talk - learning to your new ways and adapting to your new lifestyle and habitat.
