Engineers looked to nature and saw the kingfisher bird that is able to plunge into water hardly making a splash. The engineers decided to mimic the shape of the kingfisher's beak and had resounding success.

The spider web inspired many different types of inventions. One of them being an invention protecting birds from flying into windows. The German engineering company called Arnold Glas was inspired by spider webs the glass was called Ornilux to keep birds safe and not to fly into glass, they thought that spider webs reflected the UV light this used as a strategy to avoid birds from crashing into glass. So they took inspiration from the spider webs and made glass that would avoid birds crashing. They got glass and glazed and mimicked the pattern of a spider web. They used this thing called ultraviolet-reflective a type of coating that is only visible to birds eyes, from what I said before they did this because birds are capable of seeing the broader of a UV spectrum that are clear to them but not us humans. There are a bunch of nature inspired inventions and many were very cool, as many were mentioned in the video. for example like a plane was inspired by birds and how shark skin made a swim suit. There are a lot of nature inspired inventions that people took inspiration from. So this is how the spider web was inspired to make a glass to keep the birds safe.

Velcro came from the idea of how the cockle-burs would attach itself to clothing and animal fur (and how difficult it was to remove it). It was a genius design from nature that was borrowed and very few people think about how Velcro came about. I think it's amazing the convenience this invention has given us and I cannot imagine living without it!
