March 12th, 1947: The Signing of the Truman Doctrine

The Impact this had was that it made sure that the other countries that were struggling would be able to get help from the U.S. This was so that they would not feel pressured to become communist when Stalin ends up helping them first. This was a good idea as it made sure that we would be able to help people before Stalin made them communist.

April 7th, 1954: The Creation of the Domino Theory

The Main impact the domino theory had was basically just what it means. When one event happens then another one will happen because of the effects that event had then so on and so forth. This really changed things as because of one event happening it actually caused the U.S to enter the war not soon after that happened.

June 24th 1948: The Start of the German Airlifts

These Airlifts really impacted Berlin with the fact that these were really the only things keeping the people of Berlin alive, if not for these Airlifts most of these people would have starved to death . If the airlifts never happened then it definitely could have happened where instead of the U.S eventually winning, the Soviet Union would have totally taken over all of Berlin and therefore Germany as well.

August 13th, 1961: The Building of the Berlin Wall

The Building of the Berlin Wall made people lose their families and be segregated from everything they might have known. This would have really impacted them because they can never cross over the wall to see their loved ones, again. Many peoples lives changed especially when one side of Berlin started prospering while the other started to decline.

August, 1945: When the 38th Parallel was Established

At first people were only worried about getting Japanese forces out of Korea and that's why it had to be separated into North and South Korea temporarily . Little did people know that this temporary blockade called the 38th parallel would not stay so temporary. So Many people were impacted by this as not many people were allowed to leave North Korea and nobody was allowed to enter it. You could just imagine not being able to see your family ever again, and what that must have felt like for them at that time.

1953: The Creation of the Demilitarized Zone

This was not really something that people would have thought needed to be created. Even though it was technically only created to separate Korea temporarily, it creates a big change as it now splits Korea into North and South Korea. It impacts people that desperately need to go to the other side to see there families, but they are denied access to the other side because of the tension and distrust between North and South Korea. This ended up creating a divide between the now 2 sides of Korea even more than they already were.

October 4th, 1957: The Launch of Sputnik

The launch of sputnik had a great impact not only because it was the first ever satellite to be sent into space, but it basically kick started the space race. It was also an important thing because it was launched by the Soviet Union, so because they were the first to do this, they were ahead and the U.S ended up being behind. The U.S ended up being behind the Soviet Union for quite a while during the arms and space race before they finally caught up and actually ended up pulling ahead of the Soviet Union for the foreseeable future.

May 26th, 1938: The Start of the HUAC

The start of the HUAC had a huge impact as it really affected people from Hollywood. There were so many people being falsely accused left and right, and many people even got blacklisted. Because the HUAC was created most of these people could never work in the entertainment industry ever again.

June 19th, 1953: The Rosenbergs Execution

The Rosenberg's execution had a huge impact on our history as it was the first and only execution that the U.S has done because of conspiracies. It was so significant that Rosenberg's children and grandchildren are still fighting to this day to prove that they were innocent. Because of this event even our police system and reasons for execution ended up being changed.

1954: When McCarthy was Censured

When McCarthy was censured it had a really huge impact on him and the U.S because he basically lost all of his power and wasn't really considered a senate anymore even though he wasn't technically removed him from office. After he was censured though he did in fact stop falsely accusing people and ruining their whole lives in the process,which really was why he was censured, so that he would actually stop falsely accusing people. Because of this people didn't have to fear for their lives and have fear that they could be falsely accused of being communist at any time.
