Why did I decide to be a language teacher?

My parents are Chinese immigrants who decided to come to Mexico without knowing the language. Since I am their first daughter, a lot depends on me to help them with Spanish. That's why I was once in a dilemma about choosing between teaching and translating. I also have a younger sister who went to school, and I had to help her with her homework.

In many of the classes she took, had classmates who had difficulties with math, and she would help them. One day, a classmate said, 'You explain things well; why don't you become a teacher?

My name is Elena Huang and I'm 23 years old.

I'm Mexican but my parents are from China.

Currently, I'm a Chinese teacher.

I love read korean comic and watch movies in my leisure time.

I love languages:

Taishanese is my mother tongue

Spanish is my 2nd language, Chinese Mandarín is the 3rd one and English is my 4rd.

Also, I speak Cantonese and little bit French and Japanese.

As a teaching profession, you never stop learning every day. There will be occasions when we must unlearn the old and update ourselves with the new, adapting as time progresses, and that is what helps us grow and become a good teacher.

Professional timeline

I have been working as a Chinese teacher for 2.5 years in Dongji because I pretty the Chinese language.

I completed my internship at the beginning of 2024 at CEC UABC, a language center, where I worked for 6 months. Recently, I got a job there.

During my studies, I visited many elementary schools for observation, intervention, and teaching classes in the english language.
