Here are some advices and tips for better understanding to Australia culture. First, they need to keep in mind that they may have different style of learning from their home country as Australian like to joke around the class with relaxing vibe. Second, teacher expect students to be independent and feel free to do their own task. Third, schools take plagiarism seriously so that students cannot cheat.

In China you need to respect your teachers and call them teachers when you are in school. Calling their names directly is very impolite. You can't ask the teacher questions casually during class. You can only speak after the teacher asks questions and when you raise your hand and the teacher agrees.

Teachers in China will teach you step by step how to do exercises and homework without the need to add your own thinking

Plagiarism in China is also not allowed. Once the school finds you plagiarized or cheated, you will be punished or expelled

Chinese people are generally very restrained. If you greet strangers on the street, they will think you are strange. And the Chinese do n’t ask each other ’s personal things

n Australia, the classroom atmosphere is very relaxed. Students and teachers will make jokes on each other and call each other by their names. It is like an equal relationship. There is a lot of freedom in learning, and most of the time you are free to allocate your study time, so it is also a test of the students' self-consciousness and self-learning ability, but if you have questions you can ask the teachers and they will be happy to answer you. In Australia, plagiarism is severely punished, so in order to avoid plagiarism caused by improper citation, we should fully understand the two main reference systems of Oxford University and Harvard University. Australians are very open and welcoming in their daily lives and don't mind if they ask you personal questions. They're not rude, it's just a normal part of their life.

For international students, due to different cultural backgrounds and languages, we need to quickly adjust our status to adapt to life in Australia. First of all, we should use our spare time to learn more about the local Australian culture, read more local books or newspapers, and news. It is also a good choice if we can make a few local friends. Second, the teaching situation in Australia is different from that in China. We need to actively respond to it, complete the group work carefully, and participate in group discussions. Third, we also need to adjust our work and rest and strengthen our physical qualities to help us better complete our studies. Finally, in the face of high tuition and living expenses, we can use the holidays to legally do some part-time jobs.
