In this story he fights against the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for the acces to drugs to teart his disease-. Dallas Buyers Club is an interesting film because the characters depict the problems of people with HIV in an amazing way. It portrays the problems of people with HIV at a time when being diagnosed with this disease meant exclusion

Dallas Buyers Club is an amazing film for many reasons. First of all, it is because it managed to transmit very strong emotions, and it easily achieved this hard task by making the audience feel anxiety, frustration, and anger, connecting them with the story on an emotional level, conveying an adequate and consistent tone, with great directing choices, and, most of all, thanks to the actors and their compelling performances.

For this film the stars, Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto, had to transform their bodies to perform the characters of the movie by looking thinner, sick and showing the side effects of the medicines in their bodies. Matthew McConaughey lost 30 pounds in order to play an AIDS patient, and the news noticed this by putting a special emphasis on his looks by stating “he seems to be really ill and he was nothing but skin and bones.” Jared Leto, in order to play the very challenging role of Rayon, a transsexual which mirrors Ron since he is also diagnosed with HIV as a result of his excess with drugs and sex, similarly to McConaughey he too lost a lot of weight endangering his health, and through the process he lived travestied even outside the set as an effort to get inside the character. This physical transformations in the actors and emotional connections with the characters made the performance more real.
