I have placed some next to a 1p coin so you get an idea of the size.
I had already dug the ground and after it had dried a bit I used my hoe and rake to break the soil up.
I marked where I wanted my beetroot with canes and made a shallow groove to put the seed in.
The seed are quite hard to see against the soil.
When I have sown them I cover them with more soil by gently raking to hide the groove with the seeds in.
When it's finished you cannot tell where the seeds are except for the canes.
