Good afternoon Year 9. I hope you have had a good weekend and are all keeping well. I have detailed below the DT work for this week. Please email me if you have any queries with the work and email me your completed work for feedback. Have a good week.

27.04.20
Lettering styles
You will have noticed from your research on CD covers that there are a great variety of lettering styles and fonts. This week I would like you to investigate lettering in more detail. Take a look at the link below as a starting point. Which ones do you prefer? How do they differ? Which ones are clear to read? Which ones do you dislike?

Task 1
Divide an A4 sheet of paper into 4 rows by folding the paper. Into each of the rows you should choose a different lettering style to draw your name. This is not a handwriting exercise but a chance to really draw out the letters well to fill the space. Colour each one in a different colour or various colours within each name, the choice is yours.

Task 2
On A4 paper create your own unique alphabet in lower and uppercase lettering. Use ideas from task 1 to inform your work but it should not be a copy of a font you have seen or like.

Task 3
On A4 paper write out your name using your new alphabet. Add colours of your choosing to complete.
