Welcome to this fun and engaging virtual library! The mission of this library is to introduce students to many forms of writing modeled in high-quality illustrated books. The larger purpose of this collection is to provide ideal mentor texts and activities that showcase the 6 + 1 writing traits to enhance and improve students’ writing skills. These traits are as follows: Ideas, Word Choice, Voice, Presentation, Conventions, Sentence Fluency, and Organization. A section for poetry is also included to help writers gain knowledge of distinctive style and rhythm. These materials were carefully chosen for students to relate to their own experiences in their writing practice. With the use of captivating illustrations in each book, this diverse collection aims to engage students in practicing the art of writing in many creative ways! Since a student's reading or writing level is not determined by their grade level, complexity levels of the books in this library vary.
