Her score was so high the score boards couldn't cope and it looked like this: 1.00!
This year in 2017 she is or will be 55-years old.
Watch this video and see what I mean!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi_5xbd5xdE

There is No More Perfect Tens!

According to gymnastics facts, the initial point system for artistic gymnastics was based on one score, with ten being the highest. Nadia Comăneci scored the first Perfect 10 and this became something of a legend, and the bar that all gymnasts hoped to achieve.

This changed in 2006 when a two-part system for scoring was introduced. The first score is the difficulty score and is called the A score. It is based on the various elements in a routine and how hard they are to perform. The B score is the execution score and is awarded based on performance of the skills. The B score is similar to the previous scoring method, with a top score of 10.

The A score is a tally of difficulty and can be changed if a gymnast leaves out a skill or doesn’t properly connect two skills. The B score is where the judges determine the skill of execution and rates the performance. Many athletes have spoken up about disliking the new system, including Nadia Comăneci and her former coach, Béla Károlyi.

The Perfect Leotard

If you ask a group of gymnastics moms or coaches on how a leotard should fit, chances are you will get a variety of answers. One of the most important aspects of how a leotard fits is up to the gymnast. If a leotard is too tight or uncomfortable, a gymnast will likely be distracted. On the other hand, if a leotard is too big, it could be dangerous because it could catch on equipment. A leotard that is too big will also likely bunch around the hips or waist, which will cause it to look horrible and be uncomfortable. When choosing the perfect fit for a leotard, you also have to consider whether you are buying it for training sessions or competition. Getting the right fit is important because there are different requirements for each leotard type.

Start class with an engaging warm-up session that lasts approximately 10 minutes. Play music to encourage children to get their hearts pumping with laps or jumping jacks. Make stretches come alive by telling children to flap their wings in the butterfly sit. When children stretch their backs to the floor in the straddle, ask them to go flat as a pancake and have them take turns describing their favorite kinds of pancakes. The key is to make stretching something they want to do, not just something they have to do.

12 Reasons Why Gymnastics is the Best Sport

1. Gymnastics shows individuality
Well, as gymnastics is mainly an individual sport, you can express yourself however you want.

2. ...and age is just a number right?
Typically, Female gymnasts have been known to hit their peak in gymnastics at around 17-19 years old but just try telling that to Uzbekistan’s Oksana Chusovitina (photographed), who is still fighting fit Fun fact: She has compete for three countries!

3. We’re not commercialized, materialistic money grabbers and we’re proud of it
Winning an FIG World Cup event will win you peanuts compared to how much NFL or NBA players get paid, or for winning the Masters or Wimbledon. We don’t turn up to events in our new souped-up sports car, nor do we sign sponsorship deals with sportswear companies for an eight figure price tag. Eugh, we’ve got some pride! If you ask me if paying someone to run around a sports field with a ball for $100,000 a week is money well spent, I sadly have to disagree.

4. College gymnastics has to be one of the most fun sports!
college gymnastics is like one big party! Big hair, loud music & large crowds assemble as schools go head to head, grip to grip, to win against each other. It is quite the duel! Go Gymnastics!

5. We know we’re never going to be as big as Football or Soccer but we don’t care!
Gymnastics is a growing sport with a largely, but not exclusively, female fan following! The likes of Football, Soccer, Basketball etc. are full of loud, annoying and frankly, rude drunk males. To be as big as one of these sports is unrealistic and to be honest, we don’t even want it. So let us have fun and enjoy our sport!

6. For those who love to be well turned out, aren’t the leotards just AWESOME?
Leotards are identity for many international gymnasts because you wear your national emblem on your chest (or your sleeve!) and, going back to the first point, gives you some individuality! Who knew?

7. Gymnastics is definitely one of the most important sports in the Olympics
Since the first Modern Olympiad in 1986, Gymnastics has been included in the Olympic program and has done so ever since. Due to the fact, Gymnastics is one of the most valuable sports in the Olympic program. Roll on Rio! Fun Fact: Most divers in the Olympics are ex-gymnasts!

8. Even though it’s classified as an individual sport, there is much team spirit!
There is always a team final event at a major competition whereby, three gymnasts compete on each event and those scores count towards a team’s total score so the stakes are high! Even when gymnasts aren’t competing as a team, they will cheer each other on because they’re nice like that! Take notes, other sports.

9. Gymnastics success can launch you into mainstream celebrity stardom
You only need to look at Nastia Liukin, Carly Patterson, Jordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas and the likes to realize that Olympic gymnastics success can launch you into the public domain and spotlight! I’m sure Dancing with the Stars will soon enough snap up the 2020 Olympic AA Champion for their next season!

10. There’s a frickin’ film about it!
You are not a gymnastics fan until you have watched Stick it, male or female. The 2006 film, directed by Jessica Bendinger, perfectly summarizes the key elements of an elite gymnast’s life. It’s a classic!

11. Some of the male gymnasts are rather scrumptious, it has to be said.
Gymnastics is blessed with some rather attractive males so another reason why Gymnastics is quite easy on the eye!

12. Overall, Gymnastics is pretty dang great!
To conclude, I feel that Gymnastics has the power to change lives for both gymnasts and their fans and witnessing a great moment in gymnastics is so powerful! So beautiful.
