Kathryn,

Great job creating your padlet along with a case study and evaluation tool. Your case study is easy to understand and well organized. I like that you provided a variety of discussion topics to directly guide students through the case study. You provided excellent points for students to consider when caring for this patient. Additionally, including a minimum of two references ensures students adequately research the topic.

The evaluation tool is very detailed and provides a clear outline of expectations of the assignment. It is also easy to understand and differentiates between different levels of work. This is an excellent assignment for students to understand diabetes and the appropriate care needed for patients while simultaneously being critical thinkers.

-Marcelina

Hi Kathryn, I have really enjoyed your audio-visual presentation and your case study/evaluation tool. All three of these TLA assignments have been thoughtfully created. First, I would like to quickly comment on your audio-visual presentation. The presentation is clearly and concisely laid out where it highlights all of the important facts and material. Furthermore, your audio-visual presentation is extremely helpful, visually pleasing and easy to understand. You carefully laid out all the most important details when looking at T1DM and T2DM. I appreciate your input of T2DM on the last few slides for students and nurses often get confused and interchange the two.
Secondly, your case study is extremely helpful and the discussion questions are wonderfully created. This case study is very realistic for I have had a few kids come into the Peds ER with this similar situation. Your discussion questions are very insightful for it forces the student to take a step back and put themselves into the situation. The discussion questions also allow the student to question the present system and give feedback when looking at the present triage scenario.
Lastly, your evaluation technique is very fair. Your breakdown of the evaluation technique is easy to follow and replicate. Furthermore, your incorporation of APA format, a word limit and two references gives the student more a guideline and expectation. These guidelines are helpful for they show the student what is expected and warranted for this exercise.

You did an absolutely amazing job, all the best in your studies.

Jessica
