Robertson, where we are given an unfulfilled queer love between two girls called Cassie and Emma. They live in a time where technology is advanced, where people can buy apps to do different things in everyday life, from learning to forgetting. “Eloise” especially gives us to understand love: “My heart 's already beating too fast” (Robertson 188), giving us to understand that love continues despite the inconveniences that may arise since love always endures. Robertson profoundly presents this love between two "Indigiqueer" girls in that utopian world, which was completely limited using technology. For it is mainly due to this that there is a certain lack of representation of the true feelings of the "Indigiqueers" as shown in the character of Emma after she forgets her roots and who she was in love with. So, the indigenous part to which Whitehead gives much importance is a feature that is not notably given during the story because of this limitation, so only certain words are named in the indigenous language "Echoes of a life that never happened" (Robertson 171).
