What it takes to survive is a lot of bravery and strength. The reason why it takes a lot of strength is because you need to be able to fight and kill animals for food and there is a lot of deadly animals out there. The other reason was it would take a lot of bravery is because you are out there with no food, no water, no home, nor a person to rescue you.
