I'd love to teach a class where we read books like The Odyssey alongside contemporary recreations like "Circe", "Achilles," "Silence of the Girls," the poetry collection "Meadowlands," etc. I think it would be so interesting to explore the intertextuality along with a dive into a cultural study of the compulsion to reimagine and retell.

What about a class that hits all the common core standards, but with a focus on sports? The course could partner with design teachers, Media Council, Activities Council, etc. It could cover sporting events, conduct interviews, all while reading a wide range of texts on the topic.

I'd like to teach a class where genuine discussion and debate about Literature can promote group learning, invite students to explain, justify, interpret and challenge their own and others' ideas based on a text they have read.

I would like to be able to assess this and move away from some of the pre-rehearsed speeches students often use for Socratic seminar and move towards more genuine dialogue.
