We have chosen the 1952 American Technicolor ''The Snows of Kilimanjaro'' movie adaptation for the classic movie section. It is directed by Henry King and the famous Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner star in it. Although the movie's ending does not mirror the ending of Ernest Hemingway's story, it is a long acclaimed adaptation. We have decided to have it on the list because it offers a serious reflection on human destiny, moral values, a writer's destiny and, of course love. In addition, it is a good opportunity to discuss the flashback technique.

We have chosen the Forest of the Hanged. Movie is a 1964 Romanian drama film directed by Liviu Ciulei and based on the eponimous novel by Liviu Rebreanu. Ciulei won the award for Best Director at the 1965 Cannes film festival.
