I chose Lake Mcivor Reserve because this lake is my childhood it gives me a deeper understanding of meaningful resources. When i visited my childhood lake again for the first time in 6 years it was so heartwarming i observed and focused deeply on my surroundings. There was a family of 4 feeding the ducks, one guy was riding his bicycle without a helmet and most of the people i saw were just walking around the lake or talking to one another. There were heaps of houses nearby and cars roaming around. However, i was super amazed by the lake, the water splashing, the wind running through my hair as it goes past me, the ducks quaking and the noises from the cars driving by. I stopped for a few seconds to take in some deep breaths as all this was happening, the atmosphere and setting relaxed my bones, took the negativity out of my body and released all the stress and pressure, i just felt free. It's like the water and the wind were telling me everything will be okay and the waves told me every emotion is just a thought. Every emotion and feeling came at different times but it's was up to me when and how i choose to express it either through dance, music, or just by silence and listening. This is strongly connected to what “Dadirri” mentions “There is no need to reflect too much and to do a lot of thinking. It is just being aware.” (Mirrriam, 2002, p. 2)

As I sat by the water's edge, I was surrounded by a symphony of sounds that conveyed the story of this dynamic setting. The smooth lapping of the lake's waves created a calm backdrop, a consistent pattern that anchored the scene. I overhead, bird calls offer a layer of melody, their lightness contrasted with the river's deeper, more resonant sounds. These natural noises are interspersed with echoes of human life, such as music drifting from car radios as people park and unpack for a day. People nearby are laughing and chatting, creating a nice, communal environment. I can hear children's joyful voices as they feed the ducks, interrupted by the quiet quacking of the birds as they gather for their meal. The sound of bike tyres crunching over gravel roads lends a rhythmic cadence to the image as bikers pass by, becoming part of the lake's continuing story. As Murray Schafer says “Sound is like a painting, with visuals, whatever we can hear or listen to the picture can come in our mind.”(CRIASONORA IFMT, Cuiabá, 2020) This location, alive with activity and interaction, serves as a compelling reminder of the beauty that emerges when we are tuned in to the noises around us when we listen not just with our ears, but with an awareness that connects us to the world we live in.

The tree by the lake sways gently in the wind, the branches moving regularly as the breeze blows through. The sun shines over the tree, producing dappled shadows on the ground and giving the leaves a warm, golden glow. The reflection of the tree in the lake adds to the peaceful atmosphere. The swaying tree, glistening river, and sunlight make a pleasant and calming nature landscape. Reflecting on my childhood, the lake brings me to a place of peace and wonder. The rustling of the leaves, the swinging of tree branches in the breeze, and the warmth of the sun formed a serene environment helping me escape and connect with nature. By allowing children to express themselves whilst immersed in their learning environments reflects on Reggio Emilia’s ‘hundred languages of children’ approach (Edwards, et al., 2011)

The flower at Lake Mcivor Reserve serves as drama and movement. Dramatic movement can be seen as the development, transformation, and blossoming of potential in the same way as a flower gradually emerges from the earth, unfolding, and opening to the sun. “The natural world offers an incredible wealth of sensory experiences and open-ended materials for motoric manipulation.” (Wilson,2007, p. 8) I just thought of myself being a child again. I stood outside in the sun next to the flower just embodying this process through creatively moving and stimulating the stages of a flower by starting in an enclosed wrapped-up position and then slowly growing and blooming into a flower with my body stretching out to the sky with the tips of my fingers pointing upwards.

The green, young grass made me feel serenity, tranquillity, and enjoyment. Nature's greenery frequently associated me with rebirth and life, it felt like I was born all over again representing expansion and energy. Being in such places relieved my stress, lowered my blood pressure, and enhanced my mindfulness, providing me with a break from daily stressors. The simple beauty of grass swaying gently in the breeze made me feel happy, and alive and inspired introspection, tranquillity, and harmony connecting me with nature again. The noise of the grasses riffling through eased the tensions in my mind making me feel relaxed and calm. Like Pauline mentioned "We use ear to hear, brain to listen and the body to sense vibration." (Oliveros, 2015)

When i closed my eyes i could hear birds chirping away and ducks quaking, it was such an unforgettable moment. I felt like I was sitting in a rainforest with the wildlife talking to me and i could understand what they were saying. My mind was racing with thoughts its like the duck and the birds were speaking to each other and i could hear and understand every word. Are they talking to each other? are they able to understand each other? And can i understand them? These questions allowed me to feel and understand the integrated world, encouraging me to know the value of ‘Unity in Diversity’ reflecting on what Oliveros said “I noticed different sounds and noises and my body was slowly sensing the vibration like music.” (Oliveros, 2015) this allowed me to feel different concepts of art and music.
