As we are going to be teachers we must take into account some aspects when planning a lesson. First of all, a teacher should know which are the students abilities, what are their interest, if someone have special needs… this can provide a successful teaching and learning.

A teacher should be aware of the contents she is going to teach and in which way, and for that it is important to know what the curriculum says about it. It can be a good idea to list the key concepts, vocabulary about a certain topic.

It is necessary to identify the aims that a teacher want their students to achieve. The aims are directly related with the knowledge and skills managed with the contents. The teacher have to identify the objectives that the students will achieve in the learning process. It is possible that the objectives are related with a final product. . Objectives can range from easy to hard tasks depending on student abilities.

It isn’t less important to make a list of the materials and resources that will be needed fot the lesson to be successful. Every time the teacher should think in the objectives and depending on them the teacher should choose specific material.

Every time we plan a lesson we have to be able to motivate our students, and we would manage that taking into account their interests and this will depend on the ages of the students. The teacher should explain what are they going to work on, and how will be they working.

Finally the teacher should evaluate all the learning and teaching process.

I think that when teachers are planning a lesson they must to consider three important aspects: children skills, the subject and what we want to achieve.

On the one hand, it is important to know which are children skills to know what can we do to improve them or teach new ones. Also, it is important the subject we want to work on because will help us to know what we want to do in a lesson.
Finally, we need to be clear about the objectives, even if children will not achieve them, because the objectives let us to know where we want to go and it is the most important thing that we need to know when we prepare a lesson.

Aida Alcaide

At the same time, it is necessary to make a plan, thinking the methodology that it is going to be used, and the learning outcomes that students are expected to learn after completing the lesson plan.

Moreover, teacher must decide the different materials and resources that he need in order to carry out an orderly class.
