         <description><![CDATA[<div>The soccer ball slows down because frictional forces, i.e. air/drag force, accelerates it back towards the initial starting position. The applied force only occurs in the instant it is kicked, that force applied an acceleration away from the person. That force is no longer acting upon the ball after the initial kick, the only force afterwards is the drag force.</div>]]></description>
