I'm from Valencia and I'll engage in the ordeal of visiting Vic once a week for the forthcoming months. I'm really excited about this new chapter of my life. Hope everyone is eager to work together and become the best teacher they can be!

I started studying english when i was 7 or 8, can't really remember. My mom thought it was a good idea to start young and so basically I just went along with it. I found it funny and interesting too, so that kept me motivated until I turned 17.

At that time, I had developed other interests, and as I was planning to study philosophy I settled at the level I was.

As you can see, music is one of these interests! I also love reading, writing, poetry... I did some theatre performances at some local companies, too, totally amateur. I've always been interested in art and culture.

Recently I've been thinking back about my priorities and how I want to structure and reorganize my life, so I took up english lessons again and here I am. It's being so interesting so far, I've always had a knack for treating with teenagers and kids in general and I'm looking forward to learn some more.

My name’s Melissa, nice to meet you all! 

I come from a tiny village in the mountains near Berga, and I had a knack for English since I was a child, probably due to the fantastic teacher I had in school. I did English Studies at university, studied in Leicester (UK) for a year, and went on to do an MA in English Literature and Culture at UAB. I once planned to pursue a PhD and become a university lecturer, but eventually realised it really wasn’t for me. 

So, I’ve been teaching English in a private language school since then. And now, here I am! I’m taking this Master’s degree primarily because I’d like to learn new things, spice up my classes a bit, meet new people and who knows, get into the public education sector perhaps. I’m not closing any doors just yet, for now, I’m planning on learning and enjoying this course as much as I can. 

As for my passions, I have plenty. In my free time, I like to relax by watching TV shows or movies, reading, or writing; one of my favourite pastimes.

My name is Hoda and I live in a little town near Vic.

I have studied English philology in UB, and I enjoyed the time studying there. I chose this degree because I taught myself English and ended up loving it. I am glad that I chose this degree even though at the beginning I only chose it because I did not know what to do.

I lived in Barcelona during my last year in college and when I graduated I left to live in England, London. I've been working for 3 years now as a teacher in English academies. I do not think that im going to like working in a highschool teaching approximately 30 students per class, so hopefully I can work in an EOI or in classes with less students.

Now that I am back from London, I want to get my masters and maybe leave once again to work abroad. Maybe I won't go anywhere and I'll stay here. Who knows? I'll go wherever the wind takes me.

Since I was little, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, and this year I decided to listen to my younger, more naive self and put all my cards into this new chapter.

Travelling from Mallorca every Thursday will be worth it once I make this old dream come true. I hope we all have a great year!

I am Enriqueta, an amateur musician from Barcelona, who has a Degree in Journalism.

I moved to London several years ago for career purposes and worked and lived there for around ten years, specialising in the gaming industry as Web Editor and SEO Specialist.

This experience made a big difference to my career, which was quite stagnated in Barcelona.

Whilst in London, I joined a choir for seven years, which I believe took me back to my passion for music and got me back on the track to take music exams.

Since I came back to Barcelona – due to private reasons, my career progress has slowed down and become unstable. Therefore, I’m trying on Teaching, as this is a job I am good at, and because I am happy to work within diversity and with students of all ages and levels.

My name's Daniel but most people tend to call me Dani. I grew up in London but moved away nearly 20 years ago now. I spent time in Valencia and Barcelona and have been living in a farmhouse in central Catalonia for the last 10 years or so.

I studied Film Studies in London and a few years later did a master's in translation at the UPF. I've combined working as a freelance translator with teaching in private language schools, although the translation work has dried up a lot over the past few years (thanks ChatGPT! hahaha). I also tried my hand at hop farming but it turned out to be a bit of a disaster so I stopped tending to the field a few years ago.

My hobbies are mainly hiking in the mountains, although I never seem to find the time to go as often as I would like.

Juggling two jobs and this master's will be a big challenge, particularly as I have a lot of work here at home with looking after the animals etc. but hopefully it will be worth the effort!

My name is Íngrid and I live near Vic.

Right now, I am working in a high school but before that I had been working as an English teacher in a private language school while I was doing my degree in translation and interpretation in English and Russian. Since I was little I've loved languages and I always try to learn new ones. I started learning German when I was dong Batxillerat.

I decided to do this master, because after working as a translator here and there, it wasn't the lifestyle I wanted nor I felt comfortable with it. That's when I got the opportunity in language school.

I haven't lived abroad, but I have traveled a lot. I love it!! Usually with friends or my boyfriend!

I'm Núria, but people call me Nú. Originally from Banyoles, now I live in Hospitalet de Llobregat with my partner and our tuxedo cat who tends to skip her turn with the brain cell.

I've studied Advertisement and PR, followed by a Master's in Graphic Design. I've been a designer my whole life, I do believe that creation and creativity, no matter the form, are the truest forms of self-expression and communication.

At the same time, I've always been teaching younglings a variety of subjects or workshops, there's something special about their "aha moment", when they realise they finally grasp the subject.

I guess that my love for the English language and my fascination for the learning process led my way straight to this Master's.

I'm thrilled to begin this journey!

I'm Judit. I live in a small town near Montserrat, and I finished English Studies in UB a few years ago. I used to teach English in a language school, and after that I moved to West Cork for a year.

Right now I have more hobbies than I should, but basically I'm into climbing, hiking, and anything that gives me an adrenaline rush. I also like playing chess, and I travel as much as I can.

I'm excited to start this new chapter, and I always try to learn something from everyone I cross paths with. I hope I'll learn everything I need to become a good teacher!

I'm Maria and I come from Manresa. I've always had a curious soul, which has taken me to many adventures, such as living abroad and countless little stories. Nevertheless, it also means I always want new challenges, so I often change fields and ambitions.

As far as my studies go, I have a degree in Audiovisual Communication, but it's not really my cup of tea, because it tends to involve strong hierarchies of power and precariousness (at least at the beginning). Nevertheless, I believe communication is an essential tool to make a change, and that its versatility makes it handy for any job, especially if it involves teenagers!

Also, I have always had a strong connection with the English language, but having been educated mostly in Catalan public schools, I believe it is a hard subject to love from the students' perspective.

So here I am! Ready to start this new chapter and share it with all of you!

My name is Nerea, because of my name sometimes people ask me if I'm Basque, but the reality is that I'm from Girona and my auntie chose my name after reading about the Nereids, the daughters of Poseidon, at a local library.

As for my passions, I love writing and trying to understand people's realities (since my mum is a psychologist and a social worker I have always been surrounded by many diverse realities), and I think that's why I studied Journalism. But, as you might guess from this, it also suits teaching really well. This brings me to my passion for English, which later became a passion for Italian and French as well. I have always loved languages, especially English when I was younger. My teachers in that subject and I built strong and beautiful bonds, and I still vividly remember their classes in primary school.

Throughout the years, I have combined my passion for journalism (working for news media outlets in Madrid) with working as an English teacher in some bilingual schools. Right now, like many others here with a background in journalism and communication, I’ve realised that this field can be very unstable. Even though I want to keep writing meaningful articles in any way I can, I also love teaching teenagers, exploring how to help them learn more effectively, and making them feel seen and supported. All in all, that is why I am studying this Master's!

Finally, I want to say that I am loving your subject so far! I have always liked creative and quick-thinking games, and I find it very motivating to learn innovative ways to teach and to create activities like this one!

My name is Divina, I'm from Calldetenes. Last year, I completed my degree in East Asian Studies, where I discovered a lot about that other part of the world that is rarely taught at school. During my studies, I began learning Chinese, and I also had the opportunity to stay six months in Taiwan, which was an incredibly enriching experience.

After graduating, I worked as an administrative assistant, but I soon realized it wasn't the right fit for me. Around the same time, I started teaching Spanish and English. Teaching made me realize how much I enjoy sharing my passion for languages.

I studied English and Spanish Philology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and later moved to England, where I fell in love with flapjacks but definitely not with the weather.

I hold two master’s degrees — one in Neuroeducation and another in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language. I’m passionate about linguistics, and I can't wait to learn even more.

As for my life outside of school, I've been working at the family business since I was 16 and I have plenty of hobbies. Mainly playing sports and watching movies, but also reading, writing and singing, which is my favourite thing in the world (not saying I'm good at it, though).
