To overcome this I will from now own check for AM and PM when seeing due dates, and I will go back to my dorm and complete Key Assignment #1.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Breaking down a standard into objectives and learning targets helps you to know exactly what you're asking of students. </p><p><br/></p><p>Writing objectives and learning targets in student-friendly language helps them to understand clearly exactly what you're expecting them to learn/be able to do by the end of the lesson/unit/etc. </p><p><br/></p><p>A challenge I encountered with Key Assignment #1 was breaking down each objective into two learning targets (because each of my objectives was already singling out a lone skill from the standard). I overcame this by breaking down those skills into a simpler, base-level learning target to get students started, and a second, higher-level learning target that built on the first one. </p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Breaking down a standard helps us to reduce the clutter and interpret the objective of a given standard. Breaking down a standard helps us as teachers isolate the concepts that we want to teach. Knowing how to isolate standards and break them down will serve as a guide as to how to organize and structure our classroom instruction. </p><p><br/></p><p>Student friendly language allows whatever level of students we are teaching to be able to understand our targets, grasp our concepts and track our progress through the learning process. </p><p><br/></p><p>Figuring out how to evaluate from a classroom discussion was perhaps the most challenging aspect of the key assignment. It did provide for a creative opportunity to redirect my thinking about how to accomplish my target.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

It was difficult to whether to restate the standard’s wording and rely on what it implies, or to split the objective and put the implication into words. In the end I decided it was better safe than sorry to divide “explain ways in which…” into “identify” and then “explain”.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
