The bold words captive my attention, eg- 'struggle for motivation'. The use of body positions of lying on the bed, and closed eyes, are simple but speak a lot, which i may try to included. About 30 seconds in the use of a loud bang is included, which kept me intrigued but only for awhile. To be honest, the video, i feel like the video started interesting and powerful, but didn't end that way. The reason for this, i feel the words lost me, their was no real transition between happiness and sadness, and no surprising factor to keep me intrigued.

My video, won't include the use of ordinary font as done in this video. i also felt with this video, the idea got repeated to much and their was no boldness. To achieve this with my video, i hope to include possibly a change in scenery or music.

I was able to learn that 92% humans don't correlate sound and colour. Is lead me to wonder - well what do we see when we listen to music and how can i portray that?.

Surprisingly, although its been discovered that music does in fact reduce anxiety, little research has been done to show the extent. With only proven positive effects in residential areas and centres, the possibility of creating more awareness within schools would be beneficial.

Source 1 - scholary

Hendricks, C Bret; Robinson, Beth; Bradley, Loretta J; Davis, Kenneth.. Underlining the positive influence music has on teenagers, and that those with mental health issues are more likely to use music has intensify for anger or sadness, therefore being associated with emotional experiences. Through this i was able to learn young people are more likely to rely on music, and avoid seeking for help, as it increases serotonin levels.

McFerran K, Hense C, Koike A, Rickwood, D.

With this source i was to further identify the relationship between music and the brain. When children are young they develop and understanding as to what music is, whether through family, friends, teachers or everyday life. As children bring to transition into adolescents, their music tastes are expanded. As music plays an important role in their lives, as they begin to find their identity, through personalisation and socialisation. Through this adolescents learn and define their music preferences.

Neuroscientific research of the adolescent brain has produced developmental models, that examine the reasons behind the behaviour of teenagers. These neural responses inside the brain, explain to a certain extent as to why particular choices of music are made during this period of their life.

In correlation with the first scholarly source, this source mentions the lack of research done to prove the correlation between music and the adolescent brain.

A study conducted may help to explain choices of music that are made by teenagers, as well as the musical choices made whether through emotional or social responses. The emotional responses effect the neocortex and limbic structures of the brain. An interesting part the i learnt of was that, with some circumstances music has the ability to access the neural substrates, associated with primary reinforces such as food, water or anticipation of danger. This may explain why teenagers listen to certain types of music that can enable emotional release.

This sources also examines how music can shape a person's identity, as well as school, family, culture, life experiences and friends, and how as a person ages their music preferences can change dependent on their mood, friendship, family or general life situations. It has been indicated that music is a saving grace, whether through emotional regulation, growth, and happiness.

While teenagers are figuring out who they are, their emotional and reward systems in their brain are still developing, their preferences for music may be an emotional release.

Miranda and Gaudreau (2011) have both stated that listening to music for teenagers can be categorised into parts, either stating the individual preferences, including of emotional needs such as regulation or social needs such as musical or social identity. Their research indicates that music is a safe and positive outlet, as it enables them to feel safe. For example teenagers who may listen to metal music as a way to release his or her own anger, may find its the safest way to release their anger. Some teenagers, may choose music based on the current hits or what their friends listen to, in order to fit in.

Schwartz and Fouts discovered that an adolescent personality type can contribute to their musical choices. It was discovered in a study, adolescents who prefer rock or metal music, are more independent and often question public figures. They discovered that adolescents who prefer pop or dance music were conscientious and avoided talking through emotions, [on that note, it was interesting to learn as that's where i feel i fit in]. Teenagers who prefer eclectic music, had fewer problems with emotions and social situations then group 1 and 2.

These preferences enable teenagers to relate to their musical taste to an extent, as they deal with emotions., as a form of identity as they define themselves, away from pressures and exceptions of family and friends.

Schäfer and Sedlmeier have stated for adolescents music is related to growth, identity and personal thoughts. Most adolescents preference of music is functioned as away to release or regulate their moods, based on either emotions or pleasure.

On average adolescents spend 3 to 4 hours each day listing to music, and during grade 7-8 over 10,000 hours are spent listening to music, similar to the amount spent of their studies, by the time they graduate. The sound of music enables lives to be lived to fullest, through the connection between lyrics and the beats, tied to socialisation and identity.

Another aspect that i was feel was interesting to learn of was that music effect on us has a more-so affective rather then intellectual impact.

The importance of music as teenagers transition into adolescence is vital as they develop themselves, and their musical identities, and prepare for changes in their social lives and emotional wellbeing. The listening of music enables safe and positive response from an emotional experience.

One quote that i feel sums up the main purpose of the article is'' the most important reasons why people like their music . . . are its capability to express their identity and their values and its ability to bring people together”.

Thomas, K. (2015). Music Preferences and the Adolescent Brain: A Review of Literature. Available: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/8755123315576534?casa_token=k_U9pZYbb7gAAAAA%3AnLDOeYLMOWl7K79u-YDDBhFn8HSJ12fTmlxfCJ1tOCSlOxkoGtcdGO_fF5zYMgMdfUQskcQmLbwXVQ.

The promotional video will showcase the relationship between mental health and creativity, particularly looking at music.

The video commences with close up shot of a young adolescent girl [ruby], standing next to a single candle light to representing the last resort, holding up a sign stating 'sadness'
. With the lyric 'i'm okay' being heard, contrasting the opposite feelings, of loss and pretendness. The camera then turns to focus on bed, with the music becoming breathy, the young adolescent gasps for air as she awakes, and becomes aware of the situation, and rolls over, with headphones in her ears. The scene then transforms, showcasing a handwritten note on the floor stating 'hurt'. With camera rising, to [ruby] staring at outside her as she avoids the reality of the world, reflecting with high key lighting. The lighting dims, and 'music is life itself', appears on a handwritten note. The setting then turns to symbolise a class room setting, with a handwritten note stating 'anger'. Soon after a close up shot of [ruby] of doodling blue lighting strikes contrasting with the lyric 'i was born in a thunderstorm' . She exits to go to bathroom, and where she breaks down, with anger, sadness and hurt. These feelings should resonate with the target audience. Cameras follow her back into the hallway, with the lighting becoming dark, the mid-shot scene centres [ruby] ripping up the papers stating sadness, hurt and anger until it becomes an explosion, hence the lyric 'i could make an explosion'. With the only piece of left is 'music is life itself', as she exits the she waves and gives a smile.

Concluding with a freeze frame shot of available links, which support mental health-awareness, and exploring creativity.
