My 'AHA' moment was discovering that the company 'Cargill' donated two million Yuan to the Chinese red cross and sent hundreds of thousands of face masks in China-the country it operates in. It was heartwarming to learn and it instantly established the company's reputation as one that cares about the community to me. Just goes to show how important communicating well and showing action right after goes hand in hand in crisis management.

How a company is engaging in communication during an ongoing crisis is extremely important. Reassuring the community and providing aid goes a long way to build a solid company reputation. Perception of the general mass is crucial for any business to succeed. Being proactive helps a company to build the right image in the long run. That is why it is important that a company proactively engages in conversations and actions during a major business threat.

At first, I will assemble a team of communication experts where at least one member of the board will be present. Secondly, I will actively communicate with the employees of the organization through and along with the team to give them heads up about what and how the management is trying to tackle a difficult situation. Thirdly, I will establish a channel where our consumers can regularly contact us and be informed regarding any worry or concerns. After that I will try to reassure the stakeholders of the company by being transparent with our current situation and our plan to tackle the situation. Lastly, I will proactively try to engage with the community our business operates within in order to understand the depth of the issue, collect feedback and incorporate the intel in my strategy to handle the situation.

I think palliating is not a good way to solve the problem. A company who has a direct apology to customers can gain credibility from them. The most important thing when a company makes mistake is that they should contact customer immediately and minimize the matter. Then, an spread alert is also critical.

Firstly, I will contact the customers immediately to understand about the situation. Then, after finding out why the crisis happening, I will work with the team member to find the best solution. Besides that, a formal national apology for the crisis to customers is a must. Last but not least, I will contact the media to negotiate and try to stop having bad articles about the crisis.

There were several AHA moments for me in this article. First, one was when I got to know the importance of being transparent in times of severe crisis. Being transparent gives a leader or organization credibility. In the Tylenol case of Johson and Johson, the management handled the crisis with utmost transparency. They have spoken about the issue early, clearly, and most importantly frequently. They went out of their way to help their customers, which shows they genuinely care about their customers. My second AHA moment was how some companies cared for their customers and community in these dire times. Actions taken by Jetblue airline, Cargill, and CVS Caremark are applaudable. They put their customers' and communities' needs first and responded to the crisis with empathy.

Being transparent in a crisis is a sign of great virtue and empathy. It helps all the stakeholders to have access to authentic information. It is true we cannot hide a secret for long. At some point, it will come out, and the repercussions could go out of hand. So being transparent will help all the stakeholders to understand the current situation of the organization. Based on this understanding, proper plans can be made and executed. No one expects any leader or organization to know everything on how to deal with this pandemic. However, leaders or organizations need to be transparent about what they know, what they don’t know, how authentic the information is, the challenges ahead, and the plan to avert it. The two most impactful stakeholders are our customers and community. Being empathetic in a crisis helps the leaders and organization to strengthen the relationship with them. Their message and actions will help set a standard. Consumers and the community will be able to trust them.

To be successful, my focus will be on having precise, transparent, and frequent communication with my subordinates. The decisions taken by management will be shared by them. In this way, there will be no loss of information. They will also act as a response team for every member of the organization who is facing a problem due to the crisis. I will look into the problems shared with them and personally communicate with the person.

The fundamental aim of every communication plan in the workplace for crisis is to allow smooth communication inside and outside an organization during an emergency. Each manager recognizes that communicating during a crisis is essential. It enables individuals to adjust to changing situations if leaders promptly, honestly, and empathically communicate. A tone of urgency urges individuals to decide to reduce harm quickly. Transparency fosters consumers' trust and respect by implicitly recognizing that they can handle what they disclose. And in the face of future misfortune, a strong message of hope and empathy can promote resilience.

Managing through a crisis defines a leader. I believe the first stage in constructing the crisis communication strategy is to understand the audiences a firm needs to contact in an emergency during and after an incident numerous possible audiences desire information and each has its information demands the difficulty is discovering prospective audiences establishing their information requirements and finding who can communicate effectively with that audience inside an enterprise customers are the life of a company thus client interaction is of high importance in the event of an issue i will assign customer service or sales employees to work with customers to contact customers if there are many consumers i will prepare a list initially giving priority to reach significant customers
