An alpine environment has harsh weather and the temperature is below freezing. Alpine environments include mountains, lakes and waterfalls. Whereas a coastal environment has water temperature between 16.7 and 20.5 degrees. A coastal environment is where land meets water and abiotic factors includes rocks, land and water and biotic factors includes animals such as crabs, turtles, fish and birds. 

What are some similarities and differences between heathlands and grasslands  environments.
An heathland environment is around 50 and 300 metres above sea level, it has 600-1100 millimetres of rain per year and animals that live in this environment includes birds. Whereas in a grassland environment during summer, the temperature can reach over 37 degrees and during winter the temperature can reach below -10 degrees.

How does Climate affect the way an outdoor environment is formed?
Climate is the prevailing weather conditions of a region, includes rainfall, temperature variations and seasons. This affects the types of flora and fauna in certain areas. Annual rainfall and extremes in temperature can affect a landscape. Temperature variations also affect evaporation and the level of moisture in soil.
