Narrative:

Manchester last hosted the UEFA Champions League Final in 2003, when the event was held at Old Trafford. Since then, the city has undergone significant redevelopment and regeneration. Hotels, sporting facilities, and transport links have all received significant improvements over the course of the last 20 years. Therefore, as one of Europe’s major footballing cities, it’s time to shine a light on Manchester once again.

Manchester successfully held the Commonwealth Games in 2002, as well as the UEFA Champions League Final in 2003, proving that the city has a proven track record of being able to successfully deliver, and thus is capable of hosting Mega Events to a high standard.

It is a dynamic city of opportunity and innovation with infrastructure to support any sporting event. Manchester is a city that “lives” and “breaths” sport as it maintained the top 10 rankings for the fourth year, awarded as the 8^th best sporting city across the globe, which recognises cities perceived to be most associated with sport in the BCW annual publication of the top 50 global sport cities (Manchester City Council, 2023). Manchester has hosted many sporting events over the recent years such as the commonwealth games 2002, FIFA World Cup 1996, Olympic Football 2012, UEFA Champions League 2003, and many more showing it has a vast experience in delivering high quality sporting events (unlockmanchester, 2023) showing that the city is more than capable to host another massive event. It's been a long time coming as the last Champions League Final event that was held at Manchester was back in 2003 so this city deserves another chance at hosting such a grand and historical event considering the developments they have made in the most recent years.

The NFL has never hosted a Super Bowl outside of the US. Although the sport is only played within the US, the demand and market for fans and the sport is much larger and growth has expeditionary increased in international markets in the past decade. From this, the NFL has decided to host flagship games outside the US, and the UK, and specifically London has been the destination of choice for the majority of these games.

Since this partnership has began, London, beginning with Wembley Stadium and now the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has shown a dedication and a willingness to host matches and improve the experience for fans and potential future partnerships. The new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium even has a retractable pitch which can be turned into a NFL ready pitch within a day, and among other details, the UK has showcased their ability to host NFL matches and improve experiences for fans at the stadium and at home. From this London is more than capable of hosting an NFL Super Bowl with a knowledge of the sport and capacities, and previous acknowledgments of mega sporting events being hosted here.
