Centering around low-income Latino communities, PODER fights against environmental injustice that the Latino community in San Francisco faces. In 1993, PODER helped to pass a lead poisoning prevention law. They have also helped build community parks, gardens, and secure affordable and safe housing.&nbsp;"Poder" in Spanish is the verb "to be able to" or "can." </div>]]></description>
