2. Add a post on our class Padlet by searching that location that you and your partner have selected. Include you and your partner's name in the title of the post.

3. Explore the map and find 3 amenities (i.e. useful features that improve residents' quality of life) in your neighbourhood.

For each amenity, answer the following questions on your padlet post:

(a) What is this amenity?

(b) How far is this amenity from your home (in m or km)? (refer to the scale on the bottom right corner of your respective maps to estimate)

1. MRT Station (Commonwealth EW20)

   a. This is an amenity because it is a useful feature that makes life easier for its residents as they can travel easily from one place to another.

   c. This amenity was planned by the government as it is found in the URA's Master plan. This is because a MRT station is a government built facility to enable residents to travel more easily. This benefits the residents in the neighborhood as they can move from one place to another, either from school or to work easily. They will not have to walk a long distance to get to work and since the MRT is a public transport, they will not need to spend a lot of money on transport.

   a. This is an amenity as it provides residents with food as well as a place for social gatherings. The residents can eat together in the hawker center while engaging in conversations. They can seek companionship and develop a sense of belonging in the community over time.

   c. This amenity was not planned by the government as it is not found in the URA's Master plan. This is because the centre is owned under a company. A food center can benefit it's residents as it allows them to gather and eat.

   a. This is an amenity as it provides the residents with a place to buy groceries.
