I didn't realize how many sacrifices are made financially and emotionally by a military family. It's changed my outlook.  My weakest part of culture is that I tend to lack empathy. I have been burned several times so it makes it hard for me to believe people with excuses. I am aware of my bias and I am constantly trying to make sure that I listen and act on it. My weakness on teaching culturally is a lack of empathy. I have trouble believing people because of my past.  This is something that I need to improve on and I believe that I will throughout the years. I make a conscious effort to try to change this outlook every single day. 

No matter where you come from, what gender you are, race you are, where you're from, what your sexual orientation is, I will always treat you equally. This has always been my philosophy, and it always will be.
