Parent Communication

Each month my class students will receive a monthly newsletter in their take home folders covering class objectives, important dates, Parent tips to help support their child, Reminders, and any special individual note to that specific parent. This form of communication is trying to achieve a constant flow to the parents of what is going on in their child's class without any confusion of what is to come. It's important for parents to get multiple forms of communication from us, the teachers, daily talks with the parents along with monthly newsletters, calendars, and year at a glance.

Parent Participation

At the beginning of the school year and mid way through the year we will pass out a list of ways our parents can volunteer in our classroom and in our school.

Transitions

At the beginning of the year I love to make transitions fun and purposeful. Once the children have cleaned up the classroom they will be asked to line up and form a caterpillar by holding on to the child in front of them. This will also ensure they will line up in a line which not all children understand at the beginning of the year.

Inclusive Classroom Set up

An inclusive classroom set up is important for the students to be successful in learning and feel safe and comfortable every day. An area where there are quiet areas and comfortable areas for the children to explore and discover.
