It helps students learn as they make foldables. The information that they put on foldables are a great resource for them. We as teachers don't want to make them so big that they are too big for the page. We also want them to be able to write the date some information about it on the page where they glue it.

We need to make sure that even though it is pretty and cute it needs to be meaningful. One a remember is and I see in the pictures on the readings are the way to cut curvy lines instead of straight because then it doesn't have to be straight. Cute is nice but that isn't going to help them remember the contents as much as the hands on and the notes they take with it.
The more meaningful it is the more likely they are to use it and remember the stuff they learned.
