pocket vs pinterest

Pocket and Pinterest have many similar features to one another, but also vary in numerous ways. Both applications serve as a way to organize information. Pocket is primarily for saving articles and news pieces, whereas Pinterest is primarily used for saving photographs. In addition, all photographs and videos posted on Pinterest are freely available to users, whereas on Pocket, users must also have access to various newspaper and magazine accounts to access all the recommended articles in their entirety. Both platforms offer streamlined services that tailor the user experience. They similarly suggest media that you may specifically be interested in based on your prior saves/pins. Both sites also allow you to group your saves more specifically so that you can more easily access them later. However, Pinterest requires users to save pins into specific boards and sections, a user cannot simply just save a photo to their account generally. On the contrary, grouping saves on Pocket requires extra steps from the user, as the default is to save the article generically to your account. You must instead go in manually and create a list and then add your saves to the list.

I selected these terms specifically because I feel that they keep the user protected while also ensuring that users still get the services they expect from the company. In the case of Spotify, many users like the customized playlists and song recommendations that Spotify curates based off prior listening habits. With this privacy policy, Spotify can still make custom playlists because users know that their listening habits are tracked. However, paying users can choose to eliminate all elements of data tracking, including the tracking of listening habits. The policy also makes clear that all personally identifiable data will not be sold or shared without user consent (as in the case of sharing personal data in user profiles). There are not many clauses about interaction between users on the app because Spotify is not designed to facilitate direct user-to-user communication, as there is no direct message feature and likes on playlists are anonymous.
