My parents have very different work locations that make it difficult to drop me and my sister off for school. Becoming a Monarch helped make it easier for my parents to drop me off. Despite me being excited to go to a new school, one of the major problems I faced as an upcoming monarch is making new friends. At first my strategy to making new friends was by trying to match their personality. I mainly did this due to me believing that my normal personality was too boring. I go through a couple burnouts a year though this one was especially hard. This was especially hard because this was when final where coming up. This burnout happened due to being overloaded with assignments and not being able to catch up. Getting out of the burnout was the hardest part. Not only because he is so handsome, but also because of the legacy and impact he had on the U.S. Whenever someone thinks of a U.S president George Washington will always be one of the first people to come to mind. I want to work for this to be me, but instead of the U.S it's Mitty. Becoming someone memorable and forever remembered in Mitty was not my original goal going into Mitty however. When I first got accepted I always thought I was just going to be a liability and not achieve anything, however this changed when I talked to the former Vice Principal of my school. I remember my Vice Principal being so proud of me and tellings me that when I get into Mitty it will only go up from there. Hearing this I remember telling him my doubts and telling him I'm probably going to blend in with the crowd.  As a result my Vice Principal gave me a challenge for when I came here.  It was too improve little by little until people can see how much I have changed. He first told me to try get my first ever honor roll and after that focus on my extra curriculars. So when I arrived to Mitty I wanted to be like George Washington, someone that can be remembered. Someone who is able to run long distance without any problems, constantly get honor rolls and even principal honor rolls, and even someone that is easy to talk to. When faced with the adversary of being a leader I usually tend to step down. I mainly do this due to the overwhelming responsibility that comes with the job. Though like I tend to do when life gets stale, I challenged myself. Earlier this year, for Speech and Debate, we were tasked with the job of creating shoebox designs for the members going to state. I could've just taken the easy way-out and decide to lay low, but like I did again, I decided to challenge myself. This time I decided to take initiative and start designing the shoebox for my group. My main goal was to make a live representation of a Congress chamber. I think the best quote to describe this task was from the Leadership Skills in Building Community. The quote says " The graduate demonstrates the organizational skills necessary to complete complex task". I believe I was by taking initiative, rationalizing the task at hand, and overall solving the main problem. In This overall scenario, I finally learned what is was to be a leader. I believe she is a prime example of what it means to be intellectually competent due to all the sheer knowledge she has. Almost every morning when I sit with her, a minimum of ten people come up to her and ask her for help with homework or studying. That alone shows how smart she is and it is that about her which I strive to be when I'm an alumni. I hope to be the person everyone goes to when they have a question or just overall need tips. Overall every alumni I meet, no matter what subject, always give the best and the most helpful advice that I can take to heart. To become my dream alumni, I plan to learn a bunch of new skills this summer. I also aim to go through a bunch of new experiences with time so that when I graduate from high school, I'm one of the first people they call back when they need help and I believe to achieve this goal, I need to be intellectually competent. I have worked toward this goal by overall increasing my knowledge and practicing a bunch of different skills. Though I believe the next thing I should work on is having consistency with my work. A quote is seen in the Commitment to learning and learning skills section where it says "The graduate demonstrates a commitment to producing quality academic work at the level of a student entering college". I believe I need to work on this because sometimes I don't attempt to use my creativity and intellect and try to opt for the easy way out. As a result I end up submitting poor quality work which is not the best. However I've been finding new strategies to get me more motivated and determined to put my best effort in. The most recent example was for a Spanish Project where I put hundred and got one hundred out of it. One graduation outcome I want to practice when I graduate is respect. Overall it can be very easy to disrespect someone which can not only hurt the person, but also you. I always remember my dad telling me a story about how due to him not properly respecting a friend, he ended up losing someone very valuable which also hurt him to. I believe that if we all learn to respect each other, we can all avoid more conflicts and learn more from each other.
