Sure, it’s a good way to keep in contact with your friends, but can it be too much of a good thing? In my opinion, social networking sites are beneficial if we used in certain ways, but can also be harmful if we used in the wrong way. First, these sites make it possible to interact with the people next door, or across the world, with one click. The generation Y or Millennials (born between 1982 and 1994) already grew with the internet in their hands, which makes them have a better relationship and give it a better use, since they don’t expose their lives in an exaggerated way. Finally, the generation Z or Centennials (born from 1995 and up to the present) already have a use that becomes somewhat erroneous, publish and show everything what they do, and practically their lives are social networks.

Personally being the generation Z did not see the problem of publishing all my data on the internet or give them to a page that I didn’t know if it was completely safe, but with things like grooming or cyberbullying must be more aware for, not only be more discreet with our personal information, but also to be aware that what we say can affect other people for better or for worse.

We have to be aware that danger is everywhere, and even on the internet.

We have the facility to know what our family and friends do, we can also know what happens around the world almost instantly, but how good is this last?

As I said, the information of what is happening around the world arrives extremely fast and, although obviously this is a benefit it also brings something bad, which is the manipulation of information and the creation of false news, which in the end end up making you believe to people things that do not really happen or never happened.

In addition to this, social networks can become a really dark place, sometimes young people, being able to hide behind an anonymous person, come to say and do things that they would not dare to do if they were in front of the victim, arriving to cyberbullying. In some cases the harassment is so great that certain adolescents come to have depression and even attempt against their own lives.
