However, since 1945, Labour have been in power 9 times and conservative 11 times, this is very close. Since 1979 and 1997 the Conservative government has been in power. Then in 1997 to 2010 Labour were in power. This has since swapped back to Conservative since 2010 but there has been a rising number of labour votes every election. This could be attributed to Jeremy Corbyn, but it could also be to do with different generations holding different beliefs of how the country should be run. Statistics show that young people are more commonly socialist than capitalist. In 1903 the Labour party entered a pact with the Liberal party to stop the conservatives getting in power again. This continued until 1920 when the Labour party was strong enough to act on its own. I have formed this opinion because all of the evidence points to lots of rich people exploiting the poor and the conservative party, capitalism, helped them to do this.
