The two main causes of this disease are diabetes and high blood pressure. Currently there are no cures but there are treatments that help. It is chronic therefore it can last a lifetime. The worse your kidney function gets the more complications you have and they become more severe. It can lead to kidney failure which can lead to heart, brain and bone problems. Anemia, heart disease, bone disease and edema can all occur because of this.
